The conference will take place in the brand new Amsterdam conservatorium which opened its doors in April 2008. The building stands in the middle of a very inspiring cultural area together with the Public Library and the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ (Concert Hall for modern music and jazz).

The visitor to the new conservatoire (architect Frits van Dongen) feels welcome the moment he enters the building. The architect chose the Engwada model which is a Japanese architectural style for houses in which the corridors are to be found on the outside of the building and the 'living areas' (halls, study and teaching rooms) are on the inside.
